Airline tickets for the traveler and the medical escort* Our medical escorts are highly trained healthcare professionals and are not part of the airline cabin crew. They are based throughout Germany and neighboring countries and are assigned individually to each case. Travel to and from the assignment location is arranged via regular Lufthansa Group flights. Depending on availability, route, and travel date, we select the escort with the shortest travel distance — ensuring cost efficiency and smooth coordination.

Short-haul domestic flight (under 1.5 hours)
Package Price* for medical travel escort on a domestic flight with a total travel time (departure to landing) of up to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Example: Hamburg – Munich (flight time 1h 20min)
* Airline tickets for the traveler and medical escort not included.We recommend booking Economy Class – with the option of an adjacent free seat for added comfort, if desired.
Short-distance flight (1.5 to 4 hours)
Package Price* for medical travel escort on a short-haul flight within Europe, with a total travel time (from takeoff to landing) of up to 4 hours.
Example: Heraklion – Frankfurt (flight time 3h 05min)
* Airline tickets for the traveler and medical escort not included. We recommend booking Economy Class – with the option of a free adjacent seat for added comfort, if desired.
Mid-range flight (4 to 7 hours)
Package Price* for medical travel escort on intra-European or intercontinental flights with a total flight time between 4 and 7 hours.
Example: Lisbon – Frankfurt – Stockholm (total travel time 6h 25min)
* Airline tickets for the traveler and medical escort not included. We recommend booking Economy Class – with the option of an adjacent free seat for added comfort, if desired.
For overnight flights, we suggest Business Class with lie-flat seats, if available on the selected route (e.g., on aircraft such as Airbus A330, A340, A350, A380 or Boeing 747, 787).
Long-distance flight (7 to 16 hours)
Package Price* for medical travel escort on intercontinental flights with a total flight time of more than 7 hours.
Example: Los Angeles – Zurich (flight time: 11h 10min)
* Airline tickets for the traveler and medical escort not included. We recommend booking Business Class to ensure a stress-free and comfortable journey. For daytime flights, Premium Economy may be a suitable alternative.
Ultra long-distance flight (more than 16 hours)
For especially long journeys — so-called ultra long-haul flights with a total escorted travel time exceeding 16 hours (including layovers and ground time) — it may be necessary to assign two medical escorts.
Example: Johannesburg – Zurich – New York (total travel time: 23h 15min)
In such cases, care is provided either in shifts during the journey or via handover to a second, well-rested medical professional at the transfer airport. As part of the quotation process, we will assess whether two medical escorts are required in your specific case and provide you with a customized offer accordingly.
We kindly ask for your understanding that, for medical and safety reasons, ultra long-haul flights involving health-related needs can only be carried out in Business Class. In rare cases, Premium Economy may be considered as an alternative.
